BKK Trip July 2013 - The rest of it

BKK was a short trip... We woke up early despite the early morning sleep in the car outside the temple... And after the praying and breakfast, we left the temple. Our hotel room is spacious and...

They have ..er.... i have no idea how to call this...
a view that you can see all the way down or up ....that's about ten storeys inside the lobby...quite interesting and scary...

My luggage bag is ready for the massive shopping I am anticipating. Mixed feeling about the shopping because i dont want to buy too much stuff but at the same time I am there and I dont want to restrain myself.
Anyways... Koko actually left me to shop with my friends and we ended up finding our own way back to the hotel...And that's our lunch...and then dinner....

And a night shopping area... Asiatique. Took the water ferry to go to the Sky Train that takes us back to our hotel... Sort of shooting two birds with one stone... cos the water ferry is a ride on the Chao Phraya River...
Next Day... Wat Pho to see the Reclining Buddha~

Then... the shopping starts with a lunch picnic...
Shopping in BKK is heaven... I didnt buy as much as I want to because I simply cannot carry and their sizes are not really in my range. Fat, you know.

Went to an obscure restaurant for our dinner....
Final Day in BKK... Sunday! which means Chatuchak Weekend Market. Didnt manage to explore the whole place because we had to rush back to the hotel to check out.
After checking out, we went to Terminal 21 for lunch and window shopping.

Here's my entire shopping loot. Not very impressive. I feel like I should have done better. Not much stuff to talk about. In fact, the handbag and shoes will be saved for Chinese New Year... super long time to go.

Oh! Got to stop by Kaizen before heading back to Brunei...
Conclusion: Got to make a trip back to BKK again. Probably for the Songkran Festival. Oh yes...

BKK Trip July 2013 - Night 1

And so, I finally went to Bangkok for the first time in July 2013. Flying through Brunei with two friends and will be meeting with Koko in Bangkok airport. After freshening up and lunch, we sped to Brunei and arrived with time to spare.
Suvarnabhumi Airport is where we arrived at... and I feels like a country bumpkin. Whoa-ing over 7-11 and Boots. Lol

Had coconut and mangoes while waiting for the elder bro to arrive from Kuala Lumpur~ Regretted that I only ordered the mangoes and not the sticky rice cos we didnt have the chance to try this dish for the rest of the trip. No~~~
After renting a car, we sped towards our destination of the night....and made a stop for supper at McD!
And finally, I tried the Samurai Pork Burger. It is as good as what Koko has always told me.
Night 1 ended with us making a wrong turn, a huge turnaround and then finally arriving at the temple exhausted (because it was an ungodly hour - 2am?)

Btw... here is our rented car, Civic...

The impromptu KL trip

And so I have been ignoring my blog for a while. The reason is because I was feeling a bit apprehensive about sharing things in my life. The fear of letting strangers know what I have been doing. NOT!

It's just that there is nothing interesting enough to write about. I guess it is some sort of writer's block.

Why the sudden update? Cause you see, ppl, I am actually on the plane now (when I am writing this). On my way across the sea to west Malaysia.

So nice right that I am 'on holiday'? Sorry to disappoint but I am going there on a .... Low secret mission. What the heck is low secret mission? It is 'low' because family and some friends already know about it. Even though I live alone, I still got to let them know that I will be away. Can't risk another ambush to my house thinking that I am dead or something.

AC friends, remember the time I over slept and u guys ambush my house? Man, I was so embarrassed!

Back to the topic. I can't remember the last time I have to fly alone. Seems like I have always fly with somebody whenever I get to fly. And almost each time I will choose to sleep (and get rudely kept awake by my companion). But this trip... I find myself sleepless and watching my row mates sleeping like a log. Erm... The guy across the aisle is actually reading a book now. I wish I could sleep. Late night plus super early morning is not really my cup of tea.

Btw, i am flying by MAS. Surprisingly it is cheaper than airasia and so.... MAS it is. My nasi lemak breakfast sucks. Long bean is not meant to be boiled and placed in enclosed container. It tasted weird. The boiled baby prawns are also kind of not fresh. Boo....

I am looking forward to do doing some shopping. Did I mention that I am a shopaholic? Even though I am looking to some shopping, I am actually budget-less!! Sad!! Fail!!!

Ok... At this point, I am actually running out of idea and.. The plane is experiencing some turbulence. I am just cruising along. Lol. Scared? Not really... What can I do right? I am no pilot. Ok... Now I am getting a bit sleepy. Sleep mode!

Singapore Girls Trip August 2011!! - Day 2 onwards

We had an early night off and woke up early...too early for any restaurant to be fully opened...And so, we bought tidbits to eat first.

I had the Pork Asparagus when I visited Singapore way back in August 2007. Hehe... Bak Kua Delight - the bun - Can we have this in Miri? Opps...Sorry. Bak Kua is pork.
Not more than an hour later, we lunched! We shared the Mango Salad - Unripen Mango... Yum. I am salivating by just thinking of it. The Seafood Tom Yam with Glass Noodle is yummy... It's clear tom yam soup btw. Then, because we used Citibank credit card to pay, we were given a freebie - Prawn Toast~ Err.. A bit too oily and I think it has chinese celery in it. Yuck...
After lunch, we went on two separate groups - Elaine and I coupled together and started our shopping frenzy at Orchard Road. After three shopping malls and an hour left to dinner, we were hungry... and so, we couldnt stand the temptation so we had our tea break without the tea.
It wasn't a long way to the dinner place that we already decided to go but we stopped by at the hotel to drop our shopping and rest for a few minutes...

We shouldnt have taken our tea break.Full~!! Dinner was at Fish & Co. Elaine and I shared the Mussels and the Fish & Chips. The Fish & Chips is infused with cheese in it... yummy... Hehe...
Day 3 - My aunt has come over to bring Elaine and I around... She even tapao-ed hawker food as our brunch. Don't play play, these are yummy food le..
Because I wanted to see the Merlion... we travelled quite a far distance just to reach there. Super hot weather. Along the way, we also saw a bit of Smurf attraction. Smurfs on a mini football field~! I can recognise a few Smurf characters...
Then, we went to shop at Bugis area. I purchased quite a few of stuff... we happened to stumble upon really good deal at G2000 - the work top I bought is only $29 and since I bought 3 pieces, there is an additional discount of 15%. Super worth!!

Food is something that we cannot not have... All the good food. Haha....
Aunty had to left us early so we headed back to our hotel to sleep. Yes, to sleep. It was the wrong move to go see the Merlion in the afternoon. My migraine kills all my mood... plus our purse is really bleeding too much. So, sleeping is the best option. Hehe...

For dinner, we wanted to eat chicken rice but it wasnt open so we ended up the food court instead.
Day 4 - time to go back to Miri. Packed everything and then brunch at the airport.

Ladies and gentlemen, behold. My shopping loot.
That's... a pair of Crocs, one pair of socks, a pair of short pants, 1 jacket, 5 tops, 1 top for mum, 1 shirt for dad, 4 handbags, and sweets.

Singapore Girls Trip August 2011!! - Day 1

I went on an oversea holiday again~

I was feeling a bit hesitant to go on a holiday after the Taiwan and KL Trip. Erm.. Haha.. But, yes, I booked my ticket and went on this latest trip, Singapore. This trip is all about food and ...shopping.

We used the Airasia direct flight from Miri to Singapore...and nearly missed our flight. Haha... We got into the departure hall quite late and immediately queued in the line when we heard our names being called out on the speaker. Oh mien! We were totally late... everyone else has gone into the plane. We were queueing for the KL flight. yikes!

And so... we made it safely to Singapore...After dumping our luggage at the hotel, I went off with my aunt... who brought me to eat Indonesian food at Lucky Plaza - Ayam Penyet.
We also ordered the Asam Soup and also the Gado-gado. The ayam penyet is actually something like our Miri Nasi Lalapan but the chili paste is 'power'! It has this crispy flakes which I have no idea what is it and it is so yummy!! It is so spicy but you cant stop eating it. The soup is sour and very appetising. Slurp! slurp! slurp!...and the gado-gado is so yummy too! I love!!

Off to a good start... lol. After lunch, we went to Bugis area..where I took pic of the Smurfs deco...erm.. not planning to show it cos it is quite small. A bit anti-climatic really. I also had a cone of Black Sesame ice cream..Regret. Cos it gets a bit yucky after a few licks. Anyways... we shopped at the Bugis Street Market. I bought 3 tops (2 for myself and 1 for mum) at a bargain (if you compare it to the price in Miri la). Then wandered across the Bugis Village (i think)...and dropped by for Dimsum!
It was just an ok-dimsum. Probably because we were not hungry. Btw, the uncle has joined us after the shopping at Bugis Street Market. So the three of us had the dimsum together. But the sharing is more like half for me and half for the two of them. -.-| I ate so much!! P/s: no money was spent on food yet. All treated by my dear aunty~

Err... Dinner was at Marche, Somerset. Met up with Jac who treated me dinner. Tasted a few chunkful of Sonia's Ham & Cheese Crepe, forkful of Elaine's Caesar's Salad, shared the Veal Sausage, Roasted Potato and the desseret - Choco Crepe with Strawberries and Chocolate Ice cream... oh! Yummy!! P/S: the strawberries are so deceiving... sour la. should have ordered the mango instead. But the chocolate ice cream is to die for. It is so gooood!
After the dinner... more window shopping. We retired early cos for some reasons, we all didnt have a good sleep the night before. Hehe...

Day 1 - done!!

KL Trip

A week after Taiwan Trip... I went for a KL trip...

I seems very loaded to do this two trips at such a short time period but I am not. I am completely broke. Haha... Taiwan is not in my travel plan initially when I planned this KL trip. But since Mrs Goh is sponsoring me so why not, right?

KL trip started on Friday. We flew. We arrived. We checked in to our hotel and we went straight to Ikea to lunch and to start shopping.
After shopping, we went to a friend's place to rest and for the guys to shower. Then... in two cars, we 'chiong' Genting.
For your info, I didnt gamble. I was there to see see look look. I dunno why I dun have the intention to gamble.

Next Day... in 2 cars again. We 'chiong' Melaka. Oh panas... Warm weather... Loads of walking around. Sight seeing. This time, I get to see A Famosa upclose....
And also to eat the famous chicken rice balls.
Then... we headed back to Damansara... actually, Elaine and I went to relax at JWei's place while he showered ...while the other 3 guys went to Jer's place.

We dined at Tao... an ala carte buffet dinner where we ate insane amount of salmon sashimi. I dun want to eat any salmon sashimi for the months to come. Urgh...

Day 3... Sunday. Elaine, Klaus and I went to KLCC for lunch and shopping. Then Dennis joined us and we went to Pavilion and also Sunway Pyramid... all to shop shop shop...
Day 4

Did a bit more shopping at Midvalley and we are packed to leave KL... Felt like time is not enough and so is the money. Hehe.. Not enough money!!

Ah... this trip is also about pampering this kid here. Eat no need to pay. Fuel no need to pay. Toll no need to pay. Lucky kid.

Taiwan Trip - Day 5 & 6

Sorry.. missing in action for a few days. Miri has been immersing in the excitement of state election.

2 more days left to tell about my Taiwan trip.. here goes... Day 5

We get to use the high speed rail from Tao Yuan to Taipei... weird thing is that by the time we reached Taipei, so has our bus driver. hehe...
Then off to shop for Taiwan local products~ Tour guide kept telling us about how hard it is to stop the tour bus in city area. We must try our best to get off and on the bus as quickly as possible. Lunch...
After lunch, we went to Tan Shui Fishermen's Wharf... Oh! Forgot to mention the fact that I was wearing my short pants with stocking on this day... I almost froze at Tan Shui because of the strong wind and the small drizzle. Darn~
Right after that, we headed to Taipei fashion district ( i think), Xi Men Ding. Raining again. urgh.. spoil the mood.
Dinner is a buffet at this restaurant that served something called Mongolian BBQ... which is actually just the chef cooking ingredients on this huge flat iron surface... looks fun though.
Hotel is at this secluded road... I didnt realise how secluded till the next morning. Cough.. accidentally stumbled upon some 18SX channels. hehe... Anyways.. Mum and I had a really nice room with jacuzzi... and I realise not everyone get as nice room as ours. Some of our tour group get really plain looking room.
That ended Day 5. I couldnt find any wireless to go online on Day 5. Felt a little disconnected from the world.

Day 6... We actually had a little change in our itinerary. In order to go to this Flora Expo, we ditched a few places originally in the itinerary - which includes regretfully Shi Ling Ye Shi. Anyways... Flora Expo was interesting despite of the rain. Mum and I donned the raincoat the whole time and I took 300 pics there. Haha...About 2.30pm, we left the expo to go to Taipei 101. Since it was rainy therefore a little foggy, I decided not to bug mum to let me go up to the ...err... i forgot which floor to look at the whole of Taipei so... instead we walked around the super expensive shopping mall.
Our final dinner at Taiwan... It's at this really unique looking restaurant. I dont put the pics of the restaurant because it is actually quite dark... Not much lighting. lol...
After dinner, we left Taipei for Tao Yuan...because the airport is Tao Yuan and we dun want to make an early ride the next morning. At Tao Yuan, we stayed at a 5 star hotel... Nice. I went to the mall behind the hotel hoping to buy some stuff at the supermarket.. but it doesnt have a supermarket. -___-
Erm.. Day 7. Departure Day. Breakfast is a feast. 5 star. They cant do bad breakfast, right? Hehe... The trip is fun. I want to go back there again but not with a tour group. :p
