Thriving to be a better person

Been facing a lot of wtf situations for the past few months. Was stewing over them and getting angry and dissatisfied and etc.

Situations such as... expecting colleagues to take initiative to do certain stuff ... expecting a better quality of work done... 

After the initial anger, the i-dont-care attitude came out and now, I am feeling i-shall-be-a-better-person. Dont want to hold a grudge over the extra effort that I am putting. Dont want to be angry when colleagues are not putting the extra effort to get things in the office done.

I guess this is also counted as collecting good karma.

Long time no update

I know. It has been another long absence. Blogger's block. After two days of being in the draft format, I finally have the ... inspiration to write. I hope that it is not short-term inspiration. Hehe...

And so, on the day before Nanotay's birthday, we cousins went out to Bintang Megamall for some picture taking for Group C, eating and talking nonsense. I finally tried Secret Recipe's Tom Yam and it isnt too bad. Nanotay treated us donuts...which I eventually brought home the remaining two as my breakfast...

My dad is in love with a new eating place... Dinner place. It is a place in Krokop 5. The fish is really fresh and cheap... But then, the veggie....not much to say. Eat fish can lah. btw, that is a bowl of bitter gourd soup.
Beware~!
Dont be alarmed. Just me and HLing preparing for office's carpet changing event. We have been warned by the other department of the strong glue odour and the dustiness during carpet changing so all of us had prepared mouth mask.

During my 4-year there, I have never reach such emptiness on my table. This is amazing. Pardon me for that patch of dust. I wiped my table before I removed my computer. So...
Anyways, turned out that the mask is useless because...number one. We can still smell the glue but managed to escape the dustiness. Number two. HLing and I were ordered to clean Boss's Office so we escaped most of the carpet changing mess.

Going to fly off tomorrow to KK... my luggage is halfway packed. Hehe... No mood to pack liaw. Hehe...I am so into Facebook nowadays that I am scared of myself. What will i be without internet? without Facebook?

Fear Not

I am not having H1N1... Just that the stress and dehydration has finally caught up with me. With the lack of adrenaline rush for the June tax submission, my body finally gave in and I am now suffering of flu...even ran a bit of fever in the morning.

Still have a mountain of things to do in the office... I shall do my best.

Time to sleep. Till nex time.

Have you ever seen people set a cake on fire? I have. So have my colleagues. Errr..ok. Dont think too much. Just that there are so many candles that the cake looks like it is on fire la.

Less than 10 days to end fo the month. Ganbatte~~!!!

Goodbye

Ah... I am going to be so stressed out at work. With no one to gossip to. Ok... not really that bad actually but... I am feeling sad about it.

CMF's last day is today. So many things to pack. So many things to do. So little time. Miss her already. No more standing up looking to the back and talking to her. No more looking at the reflection on the window and talking to her. Gosh...

I am feeling really tired now. The fatigue suddenly hit me at about 9pm but I kept working till 1030pm. I wonder if I will pass out or not.

Throat is not feeling well too... Seems to be at the verge of having sore throat and cough. Bad.

Got to swallow an extra vitamin c tomorrow morning.

Anyways..my brain kept on thinking 'what to wear tomorrow?'

Another year

Fourth anniversary at Andy Chia & Co.

I am finally a CPA. Going through another peak period in the company. The late nights are taking its toll on me.

It is also JiHoon's birthday but I am quite disappointed with his latest drug stint and also not very much into his latest movie, Antique Bakery.

Got a lot of work to do. Woke up too many times this morning so I am feeling a bit blur at the moment.

Joke of the year

Anyways...

I had a sleep full of dreams...When I suddenly heard someone calling me, I woke up and thought that I must be still dreaming. Why? Because no one was at home so... I opened the door and saw Jong and Carol there.

Why are these two people here? Hold on. It is so bright now. Last night I forgot to bring my handphone to my room. I didnt hear my alarm yet and it is very bright. Oh shit~~~~~~~!!!!

It is 10am. It is a working day. I am not on leave. Yes, I have just overslept and my two colleagues are standing outside my room. They broke into my house. Ermm..Wait. Make that six colleagues came to my house to see if I am alright. The other four arrived a bit later while I was still explaining to my Dad on the phone that I am alright.

Then, I heard the whole office was worried that I might be hurt or something when I wasnt at the office and I didnt call to inform. I also heard that everyone went silent and had a really huge sweat on their forehead when they heard that I JUST overslept. :p

And then, I heard that a friend came over much earlier but he didnt manage to come into the house. Hurt himself somemore when he broke into the house compound. Sorry

Everyone, thanks for your concern over me. I am touched that you guys are so worried about me. But this is so embarrassing and I am still trying to get over the embarrassment. I understand that living alone is dangerous. I promise that I will be extra careful. There wouldnt be a next time. Promise.

Back in the office

Time really flies. It is the 3rd day at work now. I have been... busy.

Then again, Chinese New Year is not Chinese New Year if there is no lion dance. The first day of work - we had only one lion dance. Erm... This is the flat-faced lion.
Erm... Then, the second day of work... I was out for the whole morning and got to see only one lion dance. The red one btw. So pretty~~
I have been a hardworking person every night but I have decided to take the night off tonight. Simply because... I want to. Hehe...

Erm.. Been reading loads of manga... actually one long manga and then now, also watching a few dramas too... But the internet connection is a bit ...just a bit... sucky.

Ah! I actually have loads of things to write but I am hungry again. Darn...

Ginger-ly

Just discovered something that I has been ignoring for a few days. This thing is a piece of paper lying at the frontyard. I ignored it because I thought it is some sort of useless paper that Dad has dropped there. Another reason why I didnt bother with it is because the weather has been rainy and so the paper was wet and then the weather is so sunny that it dried the paper.... So, I picked up the paper just now and... it is from MCC (Miri City Council).

Guess what? It is about getting dog licence for home dogs. Erm... I am not sure if everyone receive this as well but if I am the only house that receive this, then this means that MCC has misunderstood that the two dogs that have been 'hanging out' outside of my house are my dogs! Sigh... Why the dog owner dont want to let the dogs into the houseyard? Now I get mistaken as the dog owner....

Anyways... on Thursday night, I cooked Chicken Soup with Wine. The soup for Mee Sua....Erm... and ate it on Friday night... It has a 'hot spicy' after-taste, which everyone thought is due to the amount of wine I poured in the soup (about half a bottle)... But my parents just confirmed with me just now... Err... We finished the soup during our dinner just now.. That is not due to the wine... It is because... gosh.. this is embarassing... too much ginger la. The amount of ginger, according to my mum, should be only about one third of what I put in it. Sweat... Paise la... First time cook this and I thought need a lot. My dad, at first, thought the ginger is potato and felt strange about it already... manalah tahu it is actually ginger and so much somemore... Haha...
Erm... The Mee Sua is not the only thing we had on Friday night. We also had Duck with Salted Veggie soup. Very salty soup....

Erm... I am not sure if I have mentioned this before but I really would love to get a LG Viewty. I love the fact that it has a 5 megapixel camera feature and... it is a touch screen phone... My main concern before tonight was that whether the phone has the Chinese character writing feature and a good alarm system. I tried out the phone just now at a phone shop... It has Chinese character writing but I didnt try out the alarm... Erm... really dont know how to explore a phone to find out if it is ok or not. But there is this thing. I am guessing that it is because I dont know how to close it and the guy who served me also dont know how so I kept feeling that it is annoying that the menu is always showing. I want to see the wallpaper when I am not doing anything with the phone. Guess I will have to either figure out how to show the wallpaper or live with it when I buy the phone. Now... I need to work out a saving plan for this phone. Hmmm.... Hard lo.... Main concern starting from tonight is how to get the money to buy this phone le...

The hell-ish assignment is finally 'sort of' over. There was a final last minute change to the whole thing that caused me to feel extremely annoyed.

Tomorrow, need to wake up early to go visit Great Grandma's and Grandparents's graves...

Halo...

This seems to be a really late post of my trip to Halo Cafe... Why? 'Cause my companions have posted their post on it already and it has been up for a few days...Refer lynnx, lingdi, and christine. Shall I blame it on the lack of time?

Erm... I guessed that you can read from their posts what happen...what we eat...etc...

Currently... thinking of the events that happened this whole week... Not very significant things but they all matters... Little little things...

My work stress is still on. The hell-ish assignment no. 1 is still on-going. I had a two and a half hour long discussion with the client this afternoon. The problems were highlighted and discussed about. The amendment and finalisation will be done on Monday. Cant wait for it be done with.

The hell-ish assignment no. 2 is currently in its semi-final stage. I can't discuss about this at all.

Been working on both public holidays...Sad, yeah... Today, I find myself can't remembering what day is today. After the long afternoon discussion with the client of hell-ish assignment no. 1, I was so blur and tired that I cant remember what day is tomorrow and found myself giving a relief sigh when CMF told me that tomorrow is Sunday. Pardon me but... Halleluyah! I am so relieved... An off day. Finally!

I think I should get some sort of fengshui stuff for myself this year. So far, it has been a rough start for this year. I seems to meet with so many obstacles and difficulties. I thought my bad year should be gone already. In fact, I dont feel that 2007 was such a bad year when it was supposed to be a bad year.

Studying for CPA is, so far, stagnant. I should be BenKio-ing but... too many things too little time.

Plus, I have some problem with having not enough sleep and a back pain as well...

Then... recently I am quite into Japanese language... Possibly because I have been drowning in One Litre of Tears... the super sad and emo Japanese series... Lingdi wanted to watch it so I downloaded it and then decided to watch it as well. Watched it before on tv but missed most of the episodes...

And... I have, finally, found and downloaded the song '永遠に' by The Gospellers. Been looking for it for the past one or two weeks. Finally. So happy. Hehe.... Japanese song... I am truly very much into Japanese stuff these days....

Note: I hope I am not wrong. BenKio should mean 'study' in Japanese.

Overwhelmed...and shocked

Kind of overwhelmed with the amount of work that I have now.... Seems like I will not be able to complete it all. Part of the reason is because I was unwell last week. So... my progress was really slow.

Feel like the work is piling up on me... Gosh... I am very worried.

Then... just now, I clicked on the March 2007 link... out of the blue... and discovered that my Goong craze is a year ago. Huh?! So fast already one year? Gosh....

Erm... Should be sleeping now. Still need to work tomorrow... Must try to complete the urgent one by Wednesday.

Squeezing out the time to do this

Hmm... I guess it is time for some serious blog posting.

First of all, my house has guests again. The neighbour's dogs. I guess they finally realised that the wire mesh thingy is no longer there so they are free to come into the compound again. At first, they just lie under the car (as shown in the pic)

But, they decided to dig holes and lie in it. Big problem. There are soil all over the place because they will shake it off when they come out of the holes... I have put up the wire mesh thingy again.

Last week, on the 19th, I went to have dinner at Fratini Piccollo. Sort of a farewell dinner for a friend. Just the three girls.

The place is sort of empty. We were the only customers and then we became one of the two tables of customers. The amount of food that we devoured was... a lot. We kept joking that the employees of the restaurant is betting that we will not be able to finish the food. Those are Ceasar's Salad, Tiger Prawn Ravioli, Avocado Cream Soup and Marinara Pizza. We actually wanted to get a dessert as well but fortunately we didnt ordered it in the beginning 'cause we were too stuffed to eat anymore.

Ah... the fire. Sherp commented that I still have time to take pics when the incident happened. Truthfully, no one wanted to go near the back of the office at that time so we all stood at the front of the office space looking at the fire thru the back door. No one knows what to do besides looking at the fire. Come to think it... we were sort of in a dangerous position. The windows are all cracked due to the heat from the fire. The aircond's outdoor units are destroyed. Later, it was discovered that we had a aerosol can on the cabinet near the back window. If the fire has been any longer or any hotter, the aerosol can could have blown up. Gasp! We have moved such dangerous item to a safer location.

Just to show how damaged are the aircond's outdoor units. The one at the bottom right is not our office's... The smaller upper right is outs. It is totally destroyed and it is just two days old. A new aircond addition that was just installed two days before the fire. A total loss.

Just to let you guys know... My forehead, at this moment, feels like something is pressing it and it is really bothersome.. I think I will eat some panadol before I sleep.

Flying off

Urgh.... After so many days of toiling at the office to complete the three assignments, I am finally flying off today. Yesterday has not been easy.... Let's forget it and look forward to this shopping trip.

Currently having not enough sleep. Need to get some painkiller later. Cracked lips. Not enough water in the body.

Wednesday and Thursday were very eventful... I was so busy and tired that I haven't got the time to blog about it...

Basically... Wednesday... I have been assigned to be part of the chauffeuring team for the bride family. To transport some of them. Eat eat see see look look. Sweat... I can only say that I am very punctual and I hate to wait. Sigh... No point of complaining it anymore. It has been done and should not be remembered.

Thursday... no more chauffeuring 'cause I escaped it all... by leaving early. :P
There are plenty of people to help chauffeuring anyways...

After two days of futile dress-shopping, I finally bought a dress. Thanks to the trio for accompanying me... Lynthia will want me to say this so here goes 'Thanks to your expert advice that I am able to get a dress. Thanks so much~'

The wedding dinner... Compared to the previous wedding dinner I went to, this is bombarded with karaoke singing. And... I have never sit so up close to the stage till I can see that the wedding cake is a fake and so close that I can listen live to the people singing karaoke. Sit so close that I can actually see that the bride's fake eyelashes and real eyelashes aren't aligned together thus causing the weird two-tier eyelashes. :P Actually, I purposely stared very hard at her eyelashes to see if it is aligned. :p But to be able to see it still means that I was sitting very near lor...

I was feeling quite sick from the moment I woke up this morning and was only cured after I swallowed two Panadol Actifast. Then... when I was at home and onlining... approximately 130am... my phone rang. Office alarm Ohno...This is a bad sign. And for it to actually call to my phone made it even worse. Fortunately, koko is around. He accompanied me to my office and.... Nothing happens. No further elaboration.

It is currently 2.44 am. I have pics to show...but once again, I am too lazy to put it in now. The Lynns will be leaving for London tomorrow night and the Nings will be leaving for KL this weekend if I am not mistaken. The aunties will all be gone tomorrow. I am left alone again.

A sense of relief came over me. I am glad that this is actually over.

Annual Office BBQ 2007

For the past two years since I joined the company, we had BBQ each year so it sort of become an annual event. Must have it. Hehe....

Erm... The preparation is done at my place this year. Marinating the chicken wings and sausages the night before and then the second night which is also the night before the BBQ, the marinating of lamb chops and pork... preparation of bottles of lemon tea... preparation of sticks of fishballs, beefballs, salmon balls, crab sticks, and cocktail sausages... Preparation of tuna and egg sandwich... I think the fridge racks are kind of bent because of the weight of the food stack on it.
Laura, Joanna and I slept in the living room that night. Aaron came to pick us early Saturday morning. After loading everything in his car, we went to our BBQ site, Taman Selera. After so much delays, Aaron got the fire started... The wind is so strong that it keep on putting off the matches or the fire starters we got burning.
People starting to arrive as we started our BBQ with lamb chops and pork chops. Erm... paise to say that the pork chop that I marinated didnt have much flavouring at its fat parts. Too bad.
We wrapped up the BBQ at around 12 something. That night, I had dinner at Golden Restaurant with Laura, Kelvin and Laura's family for this association's senior appreciation dinner. Thanks to Laura's parents for inviting me. Hehe... free dinner :P There is actually this really old... i cant remember correctly.. but i think she is something like 102 years old lady. Ohmigosh...YB Boss is back from his trip to UK and we are treated with this delicious chocos... Erm... I am just putting this in for fun la...

Studying ends at page 4.24 and it is 12.34am... I am actually feeling super sleepy... but this blog post must be done... Arrghh...

More makan-makan

Firstly, the outings with cousins.
Halo Cafe seems to be the hang-out place we go to nowadays. It is not a good place for chit-chatting though. Anyways, Lynnwei and Lynthia went to Halo Cafe on last two Thursday nights ago after an unfruitful shopping trip at Imperial. The most memorable of that night is about the HK drama that Lynnwei was telling me about which I am very interested to watch now. :P

Then, we (Lynnwei, Lynnx and I) went to Desserts on Wednesday night. Sort of sitting there chatting and looking through magazines.

Erm... Talking about Halo Cafe. Went there for the first time to support Kueh for the singing competition. Then, second time to support Kueh for the semi-final and finally, on Thursday, the final round.

Had the Sunshine Fish chop which is quite delicious and very fulfilling. Went there as early as 6pm so that we can get a big table to fit everyone. I didnt leave my seat from 6pm till 10pm. Straight 4-hour sitting. I cant believe myself either. So tiring.

Kueh is the Participant no. 6 and it took a pretty long time to wait for him to perform. Anyways... here are the videos of his performance. Kind of noisy though. He only got a consolation prize btw.

Erm... On Monday, office got broken into. Scary. To think that I am the first one to open the office door. Dont dare to go to office so early anymore.

Been proscratinating. Delaying a lot of things. Dont know why. It just happen. But... the most important thing is that....

So busy

hmmm...
I have been very very busy. Work. It is the time of the year.
Chai and I were talking about breaking new records.
Last year...I broke the record by working at office till 3am. Working from 8am till 3am and then 8am till 3am again. Just like a robot. My battery is the music from my handphone.
This year...I broke the record by...sleeping for only 45 minutes...which means work for more than 24 hours, almost 48 hours.
Note that my boss didnt torture me... Work includes my own work...
Oh... by the way... Chai also broke a few records this year.
Record number one is packing her bags and sleepover at my place so that she can work late at office.Record number two is working from 10pm to 12 midnight to 1am. Note that she only work latest till 11pm if she has to go back to her home. Record number three is sleeping at 3am. She never did this before. She is such an early sleeper so 3am is a huge record.
Err... so sleepy till cannot think liaw...
Erm.. give me a few more days. I should have a normal life again in next week. Argh...
