Entering another weekend

Another week again...

This week I found myself wanting to take a leave from work. Tiredness seeps in. Pressure to hand in more assignments each day increases.

This week, it is the first time I actually scold my two mentees at once because one, I wasnt in a good mood and two, they are getting on my nerves and pissed me off. Someone told me that someone else thinks that I am the only one with good tempered in the office and to see that I scold the two mentees is very surprising. Hehe...

Good news for the week is that I get an increment and I am satisfied. Thought that it will a lot less but the amount is great. I am happy.

Grandma is back in Miri but still in ICU. Worried but not too worried because there is nothing I can do. Becoming too worried will only get in the way of things I want to...

Which brings me to the point of another NEW in this week...

Got a new handphone. I finally get the handphone. Motorola V3i

Still trying to get use to the phone. It is different than my old Motorola E300.

Then another pissed-off thing has to happen. I went to a phone shop to get a phone screen protector and the guy sold me a V3 screen protector. When I went to exchange it for the right one, they told me that they dont have V3i screen protector and asked me if I want to exchange it for something else in the shop and that I cant have refund for the item. What kind of customer service is this? All i want is the screen protector and they cant provide it to me. I will never go back to that shop anymore. It is so lousy. It seems that everything I want is not available there. They like to say that they have it and then tell ppl that they dont have it when you want it. STUPID PEOPLE!

I am tired and pissed-off for this week...Let's hope weekend will be a lot better.

Weekends...time flies...

Worked over time again on Saturday. But unable to concentrate on my work. It felt like the work just keep on piling up and I am drowning in them. STRESS.

Golden Pot Restaurant...Dinner destination. But before I shower, I did some gardening which I regret t'cause not only that it makes my fingernails dirty, I even forgot that I need new soils before I can even start the gardening. Nevertheless, after my shower, I discovered that I need to fetch Josephine and time is running out. We were 25 minutes late. :P

Golden Pot is something like Shabu-shabu with more choices of soup base. the environment isnt too bad. Just that they can consider having the air-cond a little more cooler.

After the dinner, Josephine and I went back so that I can get the house key and then went to the Euro Fun Fair to join the others. I din spend any money in the fair. After wondering for I don't know how long in the fair, we went to Kelvin's house. We played 'jie ku' till around 2 am. I was the big winner, thanks to my mentor, ChiIng. Haha...

I sent Josephine and Laura home and finally sleep at 3am.

I woke up the next morning at 8 am to find myself facing a decision to choose a new handphone. Gosh...I was too sleepy to think le! Anyway, I then found myself losing a chance at an opportunity. Then, I went to Lynn's house to help out with the moving.

Went home to watch some tv during noon time. Nearly fell asleep on the sofa. But went back to Lynn's house again. Then left home to shower to go out for rojak...which leads to Luak Esplanade and finally home.

Gosh...I feel so tired now...

Anyway, I finally slept on 1 am after tv-watching and online. Btw, Daniel Wu is really cute and I know I am killing you when I said that..haha..."Drink, Drank, Drunk" was the movie I watched and cried...Yeah, I cried...Not ashamed of it... :P Cried when I saw the girl finally cried when she kept it in her for such a long time after the guy left her. The girl really tried her best to give her support for everything the guy did but the guy just felt pressurised by what she did. But in the end, the guy realised that he made a mistake leaving the girl and went back for her.

I have actually just came back from work. Feeling so tired now but decided to blog before my poor memory erase the memory of last weekend.

Final Destination 3

Karen and I actually wanted to watch Date Movie as planned but we didnt because we were told that a lot of scenes are cut off and the movie is less than one hour and a half?

Anyway, we went to watch Final Destination 3 with Laura, Josephine, ChiIng, Kelvin and Mr Wee. I went in to the cineplex knowing that it is going to be a movie about death.

The death scenes are whoa. This time, they can predict how they will die from the pictures that they have taken earlier in the fun fair.

If I am ever going to be given chance where I can see how I die and choose whether to escape it or not, I will still go one with it regardless if it will cause my death. Simply because I dont want to go over all those emotional breakdown because people around me starting to die because they escape from death due to me and then find myself facing death once again. Sheesh! So pointless to escape in the first place.

After the movie, we (except for Mr Wee) went to drink and dine at Al Fresco. The fried squids I ordered was good except that I didnt put the lemon cause i didnt see till the fried squids only left three pieces...damn!

We chatted and laughed...Then, Karen sent ChiIng home while the rest of us were with Kelvin. After sending Josephine home, we used the old road to go back to town.

It was truly scary to see that we cant see anything when the car headlights are switched off. And I once again discovered that I am not used to sitting at the back of the car anymore. I will feel dizzy. But before going to my car, we went for a joyride...to have a look at the new location of Siam Thai Bar...

After i sent Laura home, I arrived home to call jinnwei...

Hmm..nvr imagine that I can talk so much to jinnwei. He will be back soon in Miri. Need to think of giving him pocket money so that mum and dad no need to worry about this aspect.

Another Sunday....

Woke up not too early...just early enough to discover that I have to fetch my dad from airport...

Did my laundry as it is piling up like a mountain. yea, I left my laundry on the floor until I cant stand them...No, I am not a tidy person.

By the time I fetch dad from airport, I just have enough time to hang the clothes out for drying and it is time to go out for my breakfast appointment.

Had breakfast at Yakin with Adeline where she broke the news to me that she has actually asked a guy that she has never met but talked to a few times to meet her at Yakin. Damn! I was to become a decoy for her.

Fortunately, he arrived after we finished our breakfast so we managed to end the whole meeting fast. After that, we went to Imperial Mall...Window shopping...I bought some veggie and a pack of this 'golden needle' mushroom (which I finished eating for my dinner).

Then, off to Boulevard for more window shopping. Then, we decided to do something that we never done before. Very 'rusa masuk kampung' feeling...Haha...

I guess I cant stand working overtime for the whole week...

After watching movie on Wednesday night, I worked till 10pm on Thursday night and when I went home, I online again to sleep at 12 sumthing am...

Erm..the night before, I slept at 3am..

On Friday, I am a wreck. I was so sleepy in the morning and then had a terrible headache inthe afternoon...So, I din work a long overtime on Friday...went home at 6 pm... My senior was surprised to see me going hoem early...

However, I din stay home to rest 'cause I went out with Lynnx. We had extreme mocha, cappucino, chocolate cheese cake and quiche at San Francisco Coffee....Chatting and discussing about stuff...

This is just something I like to do whenever one of the cousins are back in Miri. It is good to talk to each other without adult supervision and outside of our homes...It felt much better....for me, at least.

Went home and watch tv and online till 12 midnight...haha...the thought to have more sleep is not going to happen cause I will need to wake up at 6am so that I can have breakfast with colleagues at WZT cafe.

Somehow, I felt much better when i woke up in the morning.

After a whole day of work...yeah, whole day working on a Saturday...went home to rest and shower and eat...

Went to Euro Fun Fair with Joanna, Karen and Kelvin... The fee to play any game is kind of ridiculous expensive. For RM20, cant really play game. Anyway, it was so hilarious to see Karen and Kelvin went on the ride called 'Extreme.' I regret though when I agreed to the ride on the 'Destructor.' Because I felt so dizzy and ready to puke...which I did puke once I arrived home. Din even open my home door. Puke in the drain. My earlier McD meal is gone in the drain...Damn! What a waste!

Fun with Dick and Jane

Had a bit of problem with my stomach today. Feeling too hungry (lol).

After a hearty dinner and a shower, I went back to the office to work overtime. At 10pm, Karen, Thomas and I went to Parkson to get movie tickets to watch Fun with Dick and Jane.

The movie wasnt too bad. I was curious to see that they portrayed the movie in year 2000. The whole movie is about a couple who tries to get enough money to get their lives back after they lost their jobs and not having any money left.
Surprisingly they didnt get caught for their crimes but had a happy ending. Is it just luck that they get to get away with their crimes (robbing ppl)?
Anyways, the scenes are funny in a Jim Carrey way. He is indeed amazing with his facial movement and body movements....
Finally at the end of the movie, I understand why they potrayed the movie in year 2000. They wanted to show that the friend or was it the obnoxious neighbour of Dick and Jane worked in Enron which eventually went bankrupt due to the unethical shifting of losses to Special Purpose Groups (i cant remember whether this SPG is correct or not)....
This movie is reflecting on corporate governance which is the unit I am taking for my CPA now..

Damn! I still have a lot more to study and I dont have much time...

Grandma must recover and be well!

Wednesday...

Mum came back from KL and I discover that night she had an accident at KL two days ago. Fortunately, she didnt get hurt badily. I havent got to see her yet...

Thursday day...not working...

Did some banking stuff on Thursday morning before flying off to Kuching. Didnt have any breakfast and only had a sandwich at the airport.
Arrived at Kuching at noon and went to Hung Hung Inn to put our stuff. Received sms that grandma' operation has been postponed to the next day.
Discovered how weird is the shower head in the hotel bathroom...


Sunday...Time to go back...

Went to see grandma and we are given the news that if her kidneys arent producing enough urine, then they will have to use dialysis on her.
Wanted to tell grandma that we (yuan and I) are going back to Miri and she must ganbatte to get well but Grandma is unconscious.
Went to eat Bak Kut Teh and Pork Rice for brunch with yuan and Danny. Then went to Sunny Hill Ice Cream to get ice cream (Yummy...!). Then went to look around at the houses in Richmond Garden after driving around the Friendship Garden..A garden built by China and Malaysia to signify their friendship...Airport...Thanks, Danny for the ride.

Back to Miri...

Lynnx and Uncle Wong picked us up. While we are on our way home, a tree branch hit the car roof top, we joked about the car plate number coming out as first prize in magnum. Guess what? It did come out as first prize in Specal Cash Sweep. No one bought the number.

Back to work...Monday...

A lot of things to do...I tried to clear up my stuff as much as possible and with faster speed.
Time to work overtime at night again. I sort of welcome this permission to work overtime at night 'cause I dont want to go home so early...and my stuff is piling up. Jinnwei's SPM result came out today. I am proud of him..he didnt do particularly well compared with Lynnwei & Lynnx but this is better than what I have expected. I guess all the taunting and last minute studying work out... Jinnwei, I am truly proud of you. Now, all you have to do is to continue to do well in Taylor's. Dont waste the money we use to let you study there.
Pick Dad at the airport after work and went back to work after showering and change of clothes.
900pm, went to Ming Cafe with Karen and had Chicken Chop. Regret la...I am getting fatter..

Tuesday..today...

Feeling so hungry now 'cause I havent had my dinner. Been working from 800am till 1200 noon and then 130pm to 900pm...
My heart missed a beat when I received a sms from Lynnx that grandma is not responding today. What happen?! Cant ask anything since it is so late. Will have to wait till tomorrow...Sigh...

Acrobats & Gambling

Despite of flu, I still managed to go to the Henan Acrobat Wushu Troup performance at Indoor Stadium with Grandma and my colleagues.

The whole show was great although I kept on yawning (due to my medicine). Didnt take any pictures because I was too lazy to bring my digicam. Grandma enjoyed the whole show a lot. I found out from her that she has never seen such show live before. She didnt managed to see any in many of her trips to China. Hmm...

Saturday is no longer a relaxing day for me because now I have to work on Saturdays as well. Last Saturday, I basically stayed in the office from 8 till 6pm...ok, I did went out for lunch. Then, I attended a seminar at Mega Hotel and finally went home at 9pm. But I went out again to yam-cha and back home some time around 10pm.

Sunday morning is a busy morning. After breakfast, yuanz got us, namely grandma and I, to play poker with him. My last few experiences showed that I dont have good luck and I lost quite an amount of money. But luck is on my side this time. I won! Yeah!

I still havent recovered from flu yet. I think I overdose myself with cough mixture last night. Haha...

Influenza

Niah Trip

The night before,

Went to SUPP Dinner. The food was ok. I didnt stay till the end of the dinner because I had to go and fetch the girls from tuition.

During the dinner, they showed a preview of acrobat performance by a group from China...forgot which province. They are amzing. To see the performance live is breath-taking.

Saturday,

Went breakfast at Peach Garden. After some waiting, we decided to start our journey. I rode in Laura's car. Tried to sleep in the car but in vain (haha...Like writing essay le).We arrived at Niah National around 11 sumthing am. After Chan, ChiIng and Kelvin arrived, we went to the canteen for lunch. After lunch, all of us except for Kelvin (who was sleeping) left for the cave. The 9-km hike..all the way to the Painting Cave and back...
I slipped at Painting Cave and have bat shits all over the back of my pants (damn!).
After everyone showered, we went to Batu Niah to have our dinner.
The waitress was really fierce and we didnt really dare to ask for too much.
My headache started at around that time and going on and off for quite some time.
When we were back at the chalet, we held a financial meeting. Need to count how much do we need to pay. Basically, i spent RM40 for this trip.
After the meeting, we had the cake ceremony for the birthday boy, Kelvin. Since I was standing next to him, I got the honour fo smashing the cake to his face. I didnt do a good job so not much damage was done. Instead, Chan got the worse smashing when Kelvin smashed the second cake other face.
As night went on, the heat seems to linger and my headache began to kill my mood. We had a little card playing and after a few game, I decided to sleep. Sleep came really slow and I ended getting up to play somemore later of the night. By then, the heat has dissipated and the whole place become more bearable to me.

Sunday,

My shoulders and legs hurt. Shoulders because the floor is very hard. I guess I am used to soft bed. Legs due to the amount of walking I did yesterday. After much delay, we went to eat breakfast at the canteen. At 11, we left Niah National Park.
Then, we made our stop at Bekenu Beach. After loitering for a while, we continue our journey back to Miri. A bit of raining on the way...
After Laura dropped Josephine and I at my place, I sent Josephine to Parkson to have lunch before sending her home. Arriving home, I slept for an hour in my comfy night gown and air cond room. Then I got ready to go to Chung Hua School Concert.

Chung Hua School Concert is...very good. After twelve years of experince, they should be doing great. It is definitely better than Riam Secondary School. They know how to keep the audience entertained. Not too long performance. Just right.

Another highlight of the night is that I get to see what is happening backstage. Simply because my aunt dont want to let my grandma walk the stairs down so we get to use the backstage elevator. Haha...

I admire the courage and spirit the students have. They are so willing to perform on the stage. Not shy le. I wish StCo have such spirited students but maybe what they really do need are spirited teachers.

My body is so tired...

Monday...Today,

Went to work anyway. Despise staircase and sloping walkway now. Haha...

Bought air ticket for yuanz and me today. To Kuching to accompany my grandma.

My eyelids were really very heavy during afternoon time. Dizzy somemore. I felt really really tired after work.

Seriously considering if I should take a leave tomorrow to sleep the whole day.

Today

I woke up at 530 am this morning. Something that I havent done for a long time since I stopped teaching.

After breakfast with Lynthia and dropping her off at the tennis court, I went to Grand Palace Hotel to start working as receiptionist for the seminar my company is organising.

I was the one issuing the receipts..Haha...due to my experience with receipts.. :P

There are two sessions of the seminar. one in english and one in chinese. It is about Goods and Services Tax (GST). The speaker, Robin Chia, is from Singapore.

I thought I will be listening to both of the sessions since I will be there the whole day. But as it turns out, I sat outside fo the seminar area to take care of the reception table (guarding the money & cheques in the morning and guarding the whole table for the afternoon). I didnt even enter the seminar room to hear the seminar...

Recalling back the time...I spent 11 hours there....An extra 2 ½ hours after deducting my normal working hours and one hour lunch break...

But i felt well-compensated because I went to lunch at Han Palace with Carol and ChiIng..We had dimsum..haha...The rest of them (the other colleagues) had their lunch with the boss. Some of them think that we are really lucky to be able to have dimsum for lunch... The boss treated us all lunch...Oh! I had my lunch earlier with Carol and ChiIng cause we had to take care fo the reception table while the others have their lunch...

The tea breaks during the seminar arent too bad. i like the chicken boxing the most...haha

I guess I could have left earlier but I stayed to see if I could be any help at all...

Again, this weekend I will be away at Niah with my colleagues..Really looking forward to the trip...

Opps..I forgot to tell my mum about this trip..I wonder if she is against me going or not...Oh well..It doesnt matter. :p

Happy Valentine's Day

Lynnx once told me that Valentine's Day is very commercialised...or was it Christmas Day?

Oh well! It is the same anyway.

Every year, I spent my Valentine's Day without my Valentine. It doesnt matter to me whether I have a Valentine or not and it still doesnt matter now.

Today, I got some chocolates and a card from Lynthia (thanks) for Valentine's Day...

Grandma got one rose and guess what...jinnwei got one as well...




The red one belongs to JinnWei and the pink one is grandma's.

My mind is reeling to think whether I have ever received any flower from anyone. Erm..from my parent's friend who didnt want the rose...Oh! from the nice gardener who was trimming the rose bushes at the Rose Garden.

Anyway...just want to wish everyone Happy Valentine's Day!

Online Banking

Never tried online banking before.

The other day when I went to withdraw some cash from the atm machine, I idly registered for a temporary password. The, I went on to forget all about it for a few days...

Now, I remember about it again.

Shit...I dont have much money in my account le...Want to deposit more money also hard le. RHB Bank dont have Cash Deposit Machine to allow me to deposit money easily.

Made a payment to Astro due to the fear of losing the pleasure of watching Astro. Dad has been pretty forgetful about making payments to Astro that sometimes I didnt get to watch what I want to just because the service is disconnected...

Mahjong

I have been playing mahjong with mum and grandma this Chinese New Year. Bait grandma to play mahjong for years. I think the movie featuring Andy Lau as a Mahjong God made grandma itch to play mahjong (Haha!). I didnt lose money playing mahjong, fortunately.

Yuanz got grandma and I to play poker with him and he won. I lose terribly. Fortunately, we didnt play too much le...

'21'

I brought Laura, Josephine and ChiIng home to play '21' with grandma and mum. Haha! Laura and I ended up becoming the winners. Muahaha!

Received my stuff for my CPA program. Have to find the time to read and understand it. Not very sure if I can do well in this exam. But, I just have to do well. Mum will kill em if I dont do well.

Jinnwei and lynnx are back to West Malaysia to study and I am back to work today.

Really dont feel like working le. Sort of getting used to staying home doing nothing.

Ultimate Green Tea Challenge

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Ultimate Jasmine Green Tea Challenge! Our purpose is to decide the best ready-made jasmine green tea available in the market.
The competitors are:-
Sundrop Green Tea, Yeo's Green Tea, Pokka Green Tea and Heaven and Earth Green Tea.

The judges are:-

Lynthia, Lynnx, Lynna, Yuanz (not in the pic) and me (not in the pic as well)

The tasting process begins...

As you can see in the pic, yuanz and I are still not in the pic..Cause yuanz is distributing the cards and I am the photographer as well.

The result by majority votes is Heaven and Earth Green Tea.

- Sundrop's has a weird lingering after-taste...
- Pokka and Yeo's are the common brand we can find in Malaysia's market. Lynthia and Lynnx voted for these two brands (If I remember correctly)
- Yuanz and I voted for H & E...

Btw, Mum liked Sundrop which Lynthia and I protested to have a weird after-taste...

Hehe...Whatever it is, dont drink Sundrop's green tea...hehe

Chinese New Year

My previous post is about CNY eve but I ended talking about the day before CNY eve...

Now I really wanna talk about CNY eve.

Firstly, the CNY deco was already up and looking good...

Oh! We have been getting electricity black outs a few times...Not very sure why...Only my house...Weird...

After the makan-makan, the girls and the dogs went to the stairs place to take pics and to walk off the fullness of our stomachs...we left when yuanz came to ask me and lynnx to go out and buy lanterns...Our lanterns have gone from bright red to pinkish colour...Too old liaw...

After buying the lanterns at Boulevard, we went to find Diet Coke Lemon for grandma but cant find any. Instead we bought three different type of green tea.
When we stopped at Petronas station, we bought a few can of Diet Pepsi with lemons and witness some dangerously near to the petrol station fireworks...yikes!

The reason for the green tea is to have the Ultimate Green Tea Challenge.

New year eve's morning..

I think this post will make "Mother" telling me to help out instead of blogging...Haha

Last night, i was supposedly going out with lynnx but I got my colleagues to go out with but I didnt go with them and ended up going out with lynnx and lynthia...confusing huh?

Bought a few stuff...Two nail polishs from Loreal and one spaghetti strap top from Nicole...

The nail polish... One is Loreal's Resist & Shine colour 503 for my mum. Slightly dark redish pink colour. More suitable for adults. The other one is Loreal La Collection Hologram colour 102. I will call it Shimmering Pink..erm...too typical...I know! It will be Holographic Baby Pink! Muahaha...

The top...it is also in pink. I have been on look out for cheap spaghetti strap top so that i can wear it at home. This is on sale and very cheap....Hehe!

Pick up jinnwei at the airport. Get to use his laptop to online. Enjoy the true speed of my broadband...The old pc is not good enough to enjoy the 1 mb connection...Sigh...

i feel tired...I dont know why...I just feel tired...
