BBQ Session

Deepavali is celebration for Festival of Lights, if I remember correctly. The office people (not all but just almost half of us) went to Taman Selera to have BBQ.

Somehow, this is always the case during BBQ... To starve ourselves first before the BBQ officially begins. By starving ourselves, I meant that we skipped breakfast. So..when the sandwich arrived, all of us ate sandwich first.
So...anyways, introducing our raw food...well, part of the BBQ food. Thanks to Carol for adding some delicious satays to our menu...and also thanks to Uncle Chua for the langsats and fresh prawns (not in picture).
And then... the food on the grill. The arrangement of the food on the grill looks so nice... everyone is so pro~
The finished product... As you can see, we are not entirely carnivorous that day. We also have some veggies, that are french beans and mushrooms. Oh wait! We also have marshmallows~~So happy to see that the pork that I marinated is such a good demand...
Know what is the most annoying thing that can happen if one go to beach to BBQ? Sandflies bites. Introducing the insect repellant. But I still suffer from it... Just one bite. Well, I think it is sandfly's bite. Not so sure. :p Also from ant bite. Darn...

Later of the BBQ session, we tried to take a group photo. But... it was kind of disasterous because number one - not everyone who attended the BBQ are in the pic and number two - the photographer is very lousy. We ended up with these shots...
Err... I have no comment.

Mum's DIY Project

From the day we moved into our home, we have been using the same set of curtains. Recently, Mum and Dad decides to change the curtains. And... Mum decides to go DIY on the curtains. She started her 'assault' on the 1st floor curtains.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the curtains in my room and my brother's room.
Please take note that each curtain is from different windows. Top left is mine. Top right and bottom are from JY's room. You probably notice that the one of the top right is ... shorter than the window. You definitely didnt notice this next fact... the sewn-on curtain rope is so high up the curtains that I have to stand on tiptoe in order to tie up the curtains.

Ah..yes, I do believe this is a failure DIY project.... and there is still the Ground Floor curtains. Oh no....

Gotta do something

I was reminded to update my blog more often. I have not been blogging as often as I had been last year. So, here I am.

The wedding fever has died off...for me. Continuous attending four weddings is something new. Apart from being one of the jiemeis, I also attempted an amateurish wedding photography during Joanna and Jong's wedding day.
Although both CI and I didn't think we went overboard with our 'Block and Torture the Groom', the groom seems to hold some grudge towards us for draining him of angpows. :p

Currently in the office. Lunch break. Want to sleep actually. :p

Lazy Sunday

Yesterday, I had a rummy session with J and CI. I was losing so badily at first until... I got this. Total win from this is 21 chips (if I remember correctly).Totally turned the game around. I just kept winning after that. Phew... What a relief after the losing streak at the beginning of the game.

I have been thinking to zhng my masquerade mask. But always procrastinate so this morning, I purposely took out my impulse-shopping crystal bling sheet. Took out the masquerade mask and start sticking the blings on it.
As you can see from the pic, I basically have stick one long line of blings on the mask. That's the end of the zhng session. I dunno what else to do. Haha... No idea how to proceed on.

About the digicam, I was worried that my laptop will not detect the SD card. My laptop has such problem with SD card. They are not on friendly terms. Fortunately, the laptop can detect the pics thru the cable (still not ok with the direct SD card to laptop) so... I dont have to worry about retrieving my pictures from the digicam. Will totally kill my happiness of getting a new digicam if my laptop cant retrieve pics from it. :p

Just had lunch at Lynns. Currently thinking of what to do for the whole afternoon. 7pm is booked for tv time.

As mentioned

My new toy. Finally, after all these years, I bought my own digital camera. happy~

A bit disappointed about the fact that it can only take up to 10 megapixels picture but I convinced myself that it is not a big issue. I dont need any bigger than 10 megapixels. 10 megapixels is just fine.

When I held it in my hands, it felt like it is the one. Hehe...

First event to use this is probably the Masquerade Dinner that I will be attending soon. Looking forward to loads of photo-taking.

Very soon, I shall obtain a new toy. Cant wait. Muahaha...

Anyways, attended a seminar today. Tried my best to stay interested and awake.

My entire mind is on that new toy. Can't think of anything else.

One Fine Sunday

Woke up earlier than intended. I wanted to sleep till noontime so that I can skip breakfast but... my body refused to let me sleep. It was just 730am. Darn~

Nothing to eat at home. More like nothing I want to eat at home so I only drank a cup of coffee. The two giraffe yellow mug is not mine. It belongs to JWei but I am using it because the coffee taste better in it. Haha...

Nothing much to do so Let u guys see the mess on my table, next to the laptop. My mascara, eyebrow powder, nail clipper, watch, etc... convenient for me to grab and use. It is messy though.

I decided to show some pictures from the colleagues' KB's trip. The colleagues...
Isn't Aaron looking quite cute? Haha~~ I am not sure if it can be seen from the picture but my eyelashes are quite long due to the mascara. We were the drivers chauffeurs of the trip. We were even in matching black polo shirt and brown knee length pants.

We ordered a number of stuff including the B$50 party pack of sushi and sashimi.
Very full after all those food. Shopping at Soon Lee and Supasave after that.

Hmm... Finished my coffee. Hunger kicking in again. Need to wait till noontime to go to Lynns' place for popiahs. Going to concentrate on playing Facebook games to endure till then. Btw, I reached Level 32, the max level in Restaurant City. Now, I just need to upgrade my food. Hehe...

Update

I have been doing quite a number of stuff.

One of them is to accompany Jo to her wedding dress fitting. It was interesting to see the process and wonder when will it be my turn. Haha...
And then, I also made another trip to KB and this time, it is with the Lynns. I dont have much Brunei currency and so, I refrained from buying unnecessary stuff which also basically means that I did not buy anything at all. Btw, the carrots at Supasave looks super cute.
And since the aunties and uncles are all gathering in Miri for a cousin's wedding, we also happen to have quite a few eating sessions. Looks like my waistline is just going to continue to increase. Darn!
Bought a dress today. A dress that I never thought that I will buy. It is for someone's wedding and I already know when I can wear it again. Hehe.. I shall wear it during my Perth trip. :p Will post the dress in wgtgfashion soon.

The Ang Ku Kueh Experience

One fine Sunday morning, I went over to Grandaunt's house. I had been enlisted to help Grandaunt aka Yipo out with her making of Ang Ku Kueh. Honestly, I don't know how I can be of any help. Remember that time in July? Totally kitchen disaster for me. They have impeccable cooking skills.

Before I start helping, I reminded Yipo of this small fact - My skill is super amateur. She assured me that there is no problem.

I started by helping her to rub oil on the cut-up banana leaves and pandan leaves. Then I moved on to help with ... making little balls of green bean fillings... arranging freshly stamped Ang Ku Kuehs on the table... Rubbing cooking oil on the hot steaming Ang Ku Kuehs... Cutting the Ang Ku Kuehs' banana leaf base to nice round shapes... Putting Ang Ku Kuehs into the steamer.

Yipo was right. I wasn't a disaster. I actually can help. Hehe...
Yipo not only made Ang Ku Kuehs in the traditional shape but also in the form of baby mandarin oranges. A lot of work is put into these little delightful and mouthful mandarin oranges. So much work and so easy to eat them all. Due to the amount of work involved, Yipo doesn't make these babies often. It is only for super special occasion. So, don't bother to ask her to make them.

Then, we also made the old money-shaped Ang Ku Kuehs. It made in the same way as the normal Ang Ku Kuehs - also using the mold. The baby mandarin oranges is totally molded using hands, not using mold. By the way, all the materials are actually the same for the traditional Ang Ku Kuehs, the old money-style Ang Ku Kuehs and the baby mandarins.

It was a great experience. Aunty Leng said that it will takes 50 years of experience to reach Yipo's level. So... If I want to be as good as Yipo, I think I have a better chance of dying first. Haha... And, I have a new love for Ang Ku Kuehs. Yum yum~

p/s: I only had one piece of the old money-shaped Ang Ku Kueh from this whole experience. The rest I didn't have the chance to taste. :p

Have you seen this girl?

Ah yes. That's the girl who just bought a new pair of fashion fake glasses. Looks like a nerd...a fashionable nerd.

Bad news... The kueh chap stall at WZT will be closing end of this month. The owner is retiring. No more WZT kueh chap. Sad!!
Went to have a bowl this morning. We had the final 3 bowls of the day and it is quite salty. My guess is that these final 3 bowls of soup is from the bottom of the soup pot and the saltiness is quite concentrated.
Feeling kind of emotional today. Most likely because of the horrible PMS. So now, definitely no sad movies cause I will most definitely cry. No violent movies...maybe I will become angry and turn violent. Kidding.
Work is getting annoying. Took a long leave from work and when I got back to work, I find myself facing a super lousy account and I need to complete the whole mess in a short (less than) two weeks time. Darn!!
Going to do a double posting tonight. Just realised that I have something that I have forgotten to post about.

Glamourous

First of all, congratulations to both Davis and Irene! And thank you for inviting me to be one of the bridemaids.

As you can see from the pic attached with this post, I have some serious curls on my head. I went to have my hair tie up by stylist and... when i took off all 34 hair pins, I had this curls (and impossible-to-untangle tangles).

Hmm... Actually, I am feeling hungry at the moment. Woke up at 5am. Not idea why I cant get back to sleep. Maybe I just go lie back down again.. Hehe...

Anticipation to drive

Have been sitting in front of the laptop for almost one hour since I woke up. My life is reducing to the Facebook and One Manga-addicted life. Every day the same thing.

On Facebook, just realised a fact about Restaurant City from Lynnwei that I need to have it running all the time in order to level up. alamak~! I have been saving and quitting. No wonder it is so hard for me to level up.

On One Manga, I am reaching a slump again. Nothing else to read. Nothing interesting. Oh no~!

Last night I slept earlier than my usual sleeping time... 10pm instead of 12 midnight. Cause... I finally got too tired to stay up till midnight. Woke up earlier than usual as well. Before my alarm clock rings. And woke up to the roaring winds and... no, dun see any rain. A bit worried because I dislike driving in the rain and I still have to go out to pump petrol before heading to Brunei. I can choose to pump petrol when the others are here and we go together. But.. somehow, I want to do it alone. Don't know what type of mentality is this.

Just came back from outside. Bought and ate breakfast, pumped petrol and bought a big bottle of water.

Big bottle of water - Since Mumsie went to Myanmar for her meditation session, I have been living without any drinking water supply at home. Reason being that my house water filter is not maintained anymore so Mumsie forbade me from drinking water from that filter and started to transport filtered water from Brunei. And since she is not around and I am running out of filtered water supply (she transports a lot of bottles for me at one time), I have start buying mineral water... Kind of sad. Must try to work out a budget to change the water filter.

Then this morning, I realised that there is this Chanel envelope in the mailbox. Weird... I am not a Chanel buyer. Open mail. Ala... It is a promotional mail for Chanel new product and it comes with a free personalised pampering session and flash makeover session. Should I use this for the event on the 9th? Still wondering.

Alright...to tell you the truth, this blog post still in progress since this morning. And... I am back from Brunei.
And so... I finally get to drive to Brunei. Well, just Kuala Belait. It wasnt too bad. I have confidence to drive all the way to Bandar now. So, now is just the question of when will I do it. Haha...

On Leave Again

Ah... yes, I am on leave again. For more than one week this time.

Going to attempt driving to KB tomorrow. A bit nervous, really. I have never driven that far before. I am always the passenger so hopefully everything will go well.

A fishy affair

Ten days ago, I managed to get my hands on some free fishes. Thanks to Jacqueline for this opportunity. So exciting to see such big fishes and to be able to hold it in my hands. Hehe... Dad cut up all the fishes.
Few nights ago, Lee Sia, Chee Ai and I went to try out the korean restaurant opposite Chung Hua. The restaurant only had us three as the customers the whole time we were there. So quiet. But it was good because we can laugha nd talk as loud as we want without feeling embarrrased for disturbing others. Eating all those korean food make me miss Korea. I want to go travel in Korea again if I ever get the chance to.
Ah~ it is a long weekend due to National Day that falls on Monday and also because this is the start of non-working Saturday. I am clueless of what to do for this weekend.

I guess I have been quite busy

See... there was this outing at Taman Selera with the kids. We went crazy on the group seesaw thingie. You can watch a video of the crazy-ness in one of our facebook.
Then... there is this StCo concert. Brought these three ladies in mask with matching baby tee to watch it together. I almost screamed when I heard "O Jung Ban Hap" playing on the speakers and the performers start dancing to the music. Hehe... Guess I am still a fan.
Even though I do have September Challenge, I think it is futile. Cause of all the food I have been consuming... Laksa by aunt Cecelia... Wide range of ingredients. Drool~
Then... finally, I am on a shoes hunting mission recently. So... Irene, dear, which one is it? If these three is not... come. we shop together. I want you to be happy. Hehe...
My blogging block is almost gone, I think. In the mood tonight....Hehe

Not so fast

Have been on leave for the whole week. A bit weird. Stay in bed for almost an hour every morning after the alarm clock went off. Playing facebook for almost the whole day.

The pics from KK trip will need to wait. Didnt manage to get it from my friend so I have to wait for the photos to be burnt into DVD and mail to me...

Big decision...big action coming up soon.

Sleepy now~

I am back in Miri

Back from KK trip. Went to the sea (island) and up to the mountain (the foot of the mountain).

I have yet to get the photos from my travel partner who has a DSLR so I can only show some photos from my handphone.

Without any pictures, it seems hard for me to recap on the trip. I will try when I have the pictures.
