5 inches

As my 3.5inches heels getting raggier...dirtier...due to daily usage... I have been on the hunt since. Actually, I have been on the hunt for a new pair of slippers, heels and covered flats. I bought the slippers some time last week.

The slippers are such a cute pair. Brown and pink colour...I bought the slippers and discovered my blunder. I judged the prettiness of my slippers on the foot pad and...when I wear it, it is totally under my foot - not seen-able. Blah~!! Nevertheless, it is still comfortable.

Anyways.. after weeks of searching for the pair of heels (and flats), I finally bought ...not one..but two pairs of heels.

Quite unexpectedly, really. I have been haunting Vincci for so many many times...and I never find the pair that I like...and unexpectedly, I bought that pair of wedges. It has the height that I am looking for - 4 inches. Then...the black stiletto heels are the bonus pair - 5 inches heels. OMG.

I have succumbed to the temptation to buy a hard copy book yesterday. *Smell the book* Ahhh~~ the musty book smell... I miss you~

Oh mien~ I want to go travelling so badily. But there is just no extra cash for it now.

Another new week. Last week was one hectic week and this week... well.. beginning to look like another hectic week. Ganbatte!!

Sleep

Is it a wrong decision to sleep early? I have been sleeping early for the past two days and I ended up oversleeping...

Friday - I woke up at 8.30am and was totally late for work.

Saturday - I woke up at .... 2pm. Die! But luckily no work because of public holiday.

Should I be sleeping early tonight or sleep late? Maybe I should change my wakeup song?

Pretty Pretty~

Last night, I took out all of my makeup stuff...and laid them on the living room's coffee table. Not sure how would i proceed with the makeup or the hair, I just decided to go with the flow. Hehe... It has been a while since I have put on full makeup and I don't have much experience putting on makeup on other people....

I did the makeup on A-Ning..and also the hair. Gosh... I had so much pins put into her hair. Worried it might fall off before the night ends. Hehe...

Happy Mother's Day

Attempted my first drive to my Brunei home.... alone. So nervous!!

Miri to Brunei - I didn't take over any vehicle on the single lane road. Too scared to do it. Once I reached the dual carriageway, I sped away - ranging from 100km/h to 140km/h. Hehe... I made good time. Departed from home at 2pm - stopped by emart to get lunch - arrived at Brunei home at 5pm. Got lost Make the wrong turning at a roundabout but managed to make a u-turn.

Brunei to Miri - Took my sweet time. Departed Brunei home at 11am. Only drove about 90km/h to 100km/h. Did overtake a few vehicles on single lane road. Hehe... Went to shop at Supasave and Soon Lee...and takeaway some sushi at Excapade. Arrived at Elaine's place at 2.30pm.

Bought Mum a gold bottle gourd for Mother's Day. My first time buying gold... :p

The other day... I nearly walked out of the office at 330pm to go home. Err.. Note that my off work time is 430pm. And... I dunno why I thought it is 430pm when it is actually 330pm. Fortunately no one saw me... 'cause I havent walked out of the room yet. Phew~~

Was helping LW to download something...and discover that it is the new japanese drama, Sunao ni Narenakute, otherwise known as "Hard To Say I Love You". It is about bunch of people who twits and check each other's twit and decided to meet each other...and the story goes on from there. Not bad for the first episode... I can't wait for the rest of the episodes... 11 altogether.

As expected... it feels good to be able to sleep till noon..haha...

Labour Day and then Sunday... Slept till noon... It was so relaxing...

It's a Man World

Accounting seems to be dominated by the ladies... Eg. when I went to an accounting seminar, roughly 80% were females. Males are really rare... But then, somehow, the males often are the one holding the higher accounting position. Hmmm... perhaps there is not much competitiveness in females to obtain higher job positions.

Anyways... this morning I went to a seminar in regard to timber. I represented a colleague who wasn't feeling well. Upon the start of the seminar, I realised that I was one of the three ladies in the room full of males... I felt so out of place.

Oh dear...

p/s: One of the speaker (who is an ex-pat, a timber industry trainer and possibly a New Zealander) looks so manly that I felt so awake when he was presenting his oh-too-short presentation. Haha!!

p/s: although his goatie is quite attractive (a boost to his manliness), I cant help but feeling like shaving his chin all clean. Haha!!

Horrible Internet Connection

It sucks. Really sucks. I totally couldnt go online for a peaceful ten seconds last night. The line just kept disconnecting every 10 8 seconds. And so... I slept early(?) Not so sure actually. Suffering from memory loss. I cant remember what I did. :P

Been helping out LeeXuen with her accounts. My third year volunteering. Felt like I am still working overtime... Haha... Got to watch china drama series. Yes, China drama series. Specifically China. Never thought that I will get hooked watching China drama series.

This particular one is about a girl maid...Her mum is also a maid who fell in love with her master and then got pregnant with the master's baby.The mistress married the pregnant maid (the mum) to another guy who later got killed by the wife (the mum). The girl got sent back to the master's house (the dad) and become the master's son's study companion. When the two grew up, they fell in love with each other. The mistress told the girl that she is the master's daughter. But the son is actually not the son of the master but they couldnt be together because the mistress went to announce the girl is their family's daughter. The girl is also wanted (not sure if he loves her. Still watching the drama) by the elder sister's husband. She is also loved (hated at first but then it turned into love) by the enemy family... Damn complex the plot. One secret after another. Extremely good for keeping LeeXuen and I motivated to do our works. Hehe...

Not back to earth yet

Funny that Carol has mentioned to me today whether I have gone back from the clouds. I have been cloud-watching recently. As in... when I am driving around, I tend to look up to the sky and think 'whoa! That is a nice piece of cloud formation' and snap! Photo taken and I continue driving.

Has not being able to find any inspiration to write anything recently. Dunno why. I thought reading all those romance novels might get some creative juice going. But it is not happening. Instead I find myself mellowing.

I find myself sitting down in front of the laptop without any music. no tv. no talking. just the sound of the mouse clicking and the keyboard typing. Oh dear... I am turning into an anti-social nerd freak!

Recently, I have been book-swapping with a friend, Sam. Well, to be honest, my collection is so little as compared to hers. I am the who is obviously benefited more from this deal. All the romance novels. I am in book heaven. Haha....

Also... been helping her out a little with her house decorating. The house decorating totally inspired me. I am starting to wish I have a house to decorate...Hehe...

It;s Mummy's chinese birthday today.

On her angmoh's birthday, she was quite emo. JWei and I had no idea why. cough.. we forgot her birthday...cough..Then, Dad smsed me to tell me that it' s Mum's bday.

Shit lor... JWei and I prepared NOTHING. so we pretended nothing is going on. Ate our dinner and then.. when Dad went to pay for the dinner, we two sang bday song to her.

Mum: Eh.. my birthday hor. I forgot le.

Me: Har? In my mind, isnt she emo because we forgot meh??!!

Mum: Present le?

Me: Dont have. Your angmoh's bday fake one. We only honour the chinese bday.

Mum: Actually today is your dad and mine's wedding anniversary le. Hohoho!! Dad's in trouble. He forgot!!

Me: Tay Kao Nio, your children is giving you an all-expenses paid trip to KK. Hehe...

Me: Why KL?

Mum: I want to be there on 2nd May. Got seminar I want to attend.

Super hot

The weather in Miri has been super hot. The haze is bad...and then there was a day when it rained during the lunch break and there were three accidents on one single road... oh dear...

Been on a home appliances and furniture shopping. No no no... not me buying any of those. Cause someone and someone are preparing for their new home so I am just tagging along to give opinion. It gives me the mental preparation of how expensive things can be especially if you want them to look good and up to the latest technology. darn... I have expensive taste. haha!!

I should go to sleep now. splitting headache. prob from the heat...

Haze has hit Miri again. It was... scary to drive into the haze this morning. It was so hazy at the Boulevard area.

Back from seminar

Just came back from a seminar by Hong Leong Bank.

Speaker number one was reading from the slides. I am not sure if she is actually prepared for an English-speaking presentation but last minute changed it to Chinese-speaking - which might explains why everything she is saying is completely from the slides. And the slides has so little words somemore...

Speaker number two, at the beginning of her presentation, said that she will not be presenting in Chinese. But she slipped in a bit of Chinese every now and then. I thought she will be alright...but she was reading from her script and she almost made no sense to me. Oh no...

Speaker number three is a great speaker. Oh yes... But most of his presentation slides are in Chinese and his topic is about financial derivatives. Damn lo... Financial derivatives in English I already have problem understanding. In Chinese...ok, I am going to pretend I am listening. Ok la..it wasnt that bad. Thankfully he still slipped in a bit of English so it wasnt too boring.

I dont know what was I doing there.

Singapore & KL Trip 2010 aka Annual Pre-CNY Shopping Trip Part 2

And so, LS and I continued our shopping trip at KL... feeling so much lighter in our purses because of the Sing dollars that we have spent. Vomit blood.

Shopping in KL is pretty much the same as before...the food we ate is prob the one thing that we have changed a bit this time... After one night at JWei's place, since we arrived quite late at night, we decided not to waste hotel money and stayed at Jwei's place. After checked in to Cititel, we headed to Sungei Wang to get hair wash. Yes...hair wash. Well, actually we stopped by Hong Kong Food Culture for some tea time. The usual stuff. Fishballs...yummy... Then, to Times Square for hair wash 'cause we suddenly remembered that there is this hair salon there pretty good... We are so worn out from Singapore that we decided that we want to have a proper Chinese meal for dinner. We went to this Hakka Restaurant in The Gardens. The lotus root is really good. The other dishes are just ok ok... I have eaten better.

The second night, we had... TGIF...and then went to watch movie... hehe... We went to watch Tooth Fairy. Pretty funny... Meant to watch the local production "Woo Hoo" but didnt... Oh well...

Ls and I are not really fond of going to Sunway Pyramid for some unknown reason....It seems that sometimes we really cant find anything to buy there despite of the huge choices. It is just weird. But we still go there. We had our brunch at Dragon-i before starting our journey...Preserved veggie in the noodle soup is so refreshing. The xiao long baos are a disappointment. The ones at Ding Tai Fung are better. :p
We ended our shopping earlier than expected and so we went back to hotel to rest and then met up with a friend. And... we had Korean food as dinner. Oh..I am getting hungry looking at the kimchi jiggae. Darn...

Overall, this year trip is surprisingly exhausting. LS and I ran out of energy to shop when we are in KL... Singapore killed us. I am quite happy with what I bought...

Singapore & KL Trip 2010 aka Annual Pre-CNY Shopping Trip

It is unavoidable - LS and I have once again go on a shopping trip. This is time we have included Singapore into the itinerary and also a new travel companion to Singapore - let's call her D.We three stayed at this Aqueen Hotel at Balestier Road. It is still quite new and clean. The room is really small but we sort of expected that already. The shower toilet room is just a partition of glass... kind of see through... haha.. thank goodness, we are all girls. D's Singapore (not Singaporean) friend, SH, brought us around and taught us how to get to the nearest MRT - Tao Payoh...at the HDB Hub. Coincidentally HBD Hub is celebrating its 50th anniversary and they have this really cool tiles thingy on the wall..and everytime we passed there, there are people looking at it..analysing the tiles...
Our first shopping place is Ion and to be honest, I cant afford to shop there. Can only window shopping. SH brought us to window shop at LV, Burberry, Gucci etc... Right now..not possible. I hope it is possible to really shop there in the future. :p
Lunch is... Nothing special lo. The next day, instead of shopping at Orchard Road - we did some shopping at Orchard Road the night before, we went to Woodlands and Boon Lay to shop. The items on sale actually look more affordable but... I didn't went all crazy la. Btw, we had Mos Burger for brunch. I think it is safe to say that we shopped till we drop at Boon Lay. My hands actually hurt from carrying all the shopping bags. SH treated us dinner at Ding Tai Fung - which I remember that last time I went to Singapore, I sampled its xiao long baos and chicken soup. Refer here. This time, I got to sample more dishes. Hehe... Erm... The final day, we went to Orchard Road again to see if we can shop for more stuff. Our flight is at night so... no hurry. We even arrived at the airport earlier than expected so we went to have dinner at Sakae Teppanyaki. Not bad... I think I had my first taste of foie gras. :p The chawa mushi is cooked in big onion skin... kind of cool. :p

Got off early from work last Friday. Early break for Chinese New Year. Spent the time decorating the wall. Tada~!! Hopefully I can get more pictures to stick on... Case this is just the first batch.

I think I made the wrong choice of nail polish...and I should have requested for an extra coating or something to make it last. I have the tendency to ... wear off the nail polish fast. Sigh... Better get a clear nail polish tomorrow to apply on my nails to make it last.

I have been wanting to decorate the bedroom wall with photos and etc...but din progress much. Tonight I just took off the huge poster and planning to go develop photos tomorrow...then, hopefully by tomorrow night, the wall become colourful...
I am thinking..messy picture collage. Or should I go for the tidy line-by-line picture arrangement? Hmmm....

Ok..no more indulgence. No more travelling. Must pay car loan each month. Pray I get thru.

Got back from my pre-cny shopping trip on Saturday... Very tiring but I still stayed up late to play facebook and to catch up my mangas... Result - super sleepy at work. Die. Die die also stay awake the whole time. Promised myself that I will sleep early tonight.

But...I am currently cleaning the chandelier...yes, the chandelier...the small crystals formation hanging from the ceiling... it's my annual job to clean it. This year is no exception. Told mum that I will clean it and she will be coming to Miri tomorrow so can't delay anymore. Tonight must clean it...

I wonder if I can actually sleep early tonight....Hmm...

I will be flying off on 1st February... But actually I am flying on 31st January. Alamak!
Just printed out the itineraries... in preparation for tomorrow's discussion of the trip to SG and KL. Then, got the shock when I saw the date of departure. Shit! I have been wrong all this time. Fortunately got print the itinerary.

Anyways, just editted my posts - removed all the work related element. Got warned about it so now, finally have the time to remove it.

Dyed my hair auburn red... Dye sponsored by mom and the colouring work is done by Jac at my place. I havent gotten to take pics of the new colour ... somemore, I havent dyed my hair for quite some time. It is a bit weird to see my hair reddish.

Had the Waldorf Salad at Citrus during lunch with Chai. Quite nice o. Quite refreshing because the content is fruits and the dressing is yogurt. Me like-y.

Happy now-belated Birthday to Aaron~! I just got to post this up. Hehe... People, this is what you can call as cost saving, environmental friendly, lazy way of wrapping a gift. Just that one sheet on newspaper and cellotape ... wrap up the gift... use marker to write on the newspaper wrapper.. I think it is best to use the page where there is no colour, just plain black and white.

Coming soon... The tasting of the sour Japanese crackers. I can tell you that I am definitely keeping the wrapper after eating the content. Haha!!

Tour Guide Me

Lynthia's KTT friends came over to Miri for a visit and Lynthia recruited Joaquina and I to become the drivers.

We started with breakfast at Yakin then to Curtin University then to Grand Old Lady then to lunch at Mdm Wee's then to Bintang Megamall then to go around the town area and then finally to Luak Esplanade.

Whoa! Kind of fun and also tiring.. along the tour, my car broke down. Sweat.

I feel the power

The Power Lunch at Starbucks...Since we got the Cow Year keychain, we simply must have the Tiger Year keychain as well. Oh no... will this lead to many more years of keychains~?
I have been online-ing from my bed for many nights already. Seems more comfortable than sitting downstairs... And I develop a liking to wear pyjamas... Maybe I should get a complete set of pyjamas when there is a sale.
My mum's latest project...letter holder thingy... The striped one is mine and the material is the same with my sleeping pants. Sweat.

Damn Sleepy

It is almost midnight. I am still awake... but feeling awfully sleepy. This is just bad... 'cause the food in Cafe World still need about one hour plus to be done cooking and I am not sure if I will actually have enough time tomorrow morning to click on them. ah..dilemma.

I think I better sleep and make sure that I have enough time tomorrow morning to click on facebook.

I think this is my first time to have BBQ two days in a row. The chicken wings are super yummy~~!!!
It was a last minute decision... er..no, should be a sudden decision. I didn't expect myself to be going to such a place. But I did. Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort. Kind of fun there. Unexpectedly relaxing and I cant believe that I sweated so easily when we did the jungle trekking. The sweats just kept dripping down. Whoa~! Then then... the ducklings following this mother duck around is so cute~~!!! Sorry...Reading a manga while writing this blog so I am a bit weird... Ah~! I only put my feet pic in here 'cause the thingy on my lower lips has not recovered yet.
Before stepping into the new year, us cousins (the ones in Miri) went out to Citrus to eat... talk...drink..
